John white is my great, great great grandsther. My grandmother was born at Reedbeds at Fulham & lived there till her father died when she was 11. When John white died my grandmothers grandfather Charles took over the properties which then got handed down to his son George but when George died everything had to be sold. All the land & properties. My nan waa an only child & woman couldnt own property back then in 1920's.
So much history its interesting to read. My nan told me heaps of stories growing up

Rex, as youngsters growing up through this period I think the rabbit freezer that was up on the hill behind the shop was one of my and brother Steve's frequented spots. Of course that lost its economic viability like most other things. Long while ago but the memories of Avenue, the store and the tennis and cricket clubs and the socialisation associated with them will always be very clear and fondly reminisced.
